The Behringer X Air XR16 is a great mixer and a worthwhile purchase for anyone looking for a reliable audio mixer with ample features to assist in running performances, especially when setting up and tearing down. The set up is a one time thing and the X Air app allows just about anyone to monitor soundboard on an iPad. One of the Cons with this product is the built-in WiFi which can be unstable when the device you're connecting goes idle. However, this can easily be fixed by just keeping your device from turning off. The X Air software for PC or Mac is more powerful than the iOS app. The XR12 won't be enough if you need more than 4 mics but the XR16 has 8 combo jacks and the XR18 has 16. The XR12 and XR16 have a simple system to record a stereo mix as a WAV file directly to a USB thumb drive. The XR18 has extra features like 18 channel bidirectional USB interface for DAW recordingplayback and Ultranet personal monitoring support. The Gator bag that comes with the mixer is poorly designed and does not fit the mixer. This makes it difficult to use and the bag takes several minutes to get the mixer in and out. The mixer has a large learning curve and can prove unreliable through wireless connection. There are limited tutorial videos available for this product which makes it less user friendly compared to other mixers.
