Genre Fiction Editorial Review
**** "A Man for Jared," the second installment in Declan Rhodes's Sanderson Brothers series, takes readers on an emotional journey filled with love and personal struggles. The story centers around Jared, a dedicated police officer, and Quinn, a charming innkeeper with a hidden secret that complicates their reconnection after years apart. Their relationship is set against the backdrop of light-hearted moments, such as a fun run, while simultaneously addressing darker themes, including the untimely death of the Sanderson brothers' parents and the Consequences of secrets. Rhodes's character development continues to shine, with Jared's earnestness contrasting beautifully with Quinn's complexities, as he grapples with his past. The secondary characters, particularly the Sanderson family, play vital roles, adding depth and warmth to the narrative. The inclusion of a mellow black lab adds a charming touch, reinforcing the book's gentle mood. However, this installment has drawn mixed reactions. While some readers have appreciated the emotional weight and depth, others feel it doesn't quite reach the heights of its predecessor, "A Song for Noah." Elements like inConsistent character descriptions and an underdeveloped secondary plot involving shady figures leave a bit to be desired. Nonetheless, the overall ambiance remains heartwarming, culminating in a well-deserved happy ending that's a signature of Rhodes's storytelling. Pros and Cons: **
