Questions et réponses des clients

  • question: How long does the humidifier keep cigars fresh?

répondre: It keeps cigars fresh for up to a year.
  • question: How many cigars can one tube protect?

répondre: One tube can protect up to 25 cigars.
  • question: What do I need to refill the tube?

répondre: You can refill the tube with either distilled or tap water.
  • question: Are these designed to turn to a liquid and destroy your cigars?

répondre: You put too much water in it and ruined your cigars yourself. I had it for 2 years and zero issues.
  • question: Are you supposed to take the lid off of the tube?

répondre: To activate the Humidifier tube, remove the Silicone Cap. When not in use, keep silicone cap on to keep shelf life.
  • question: Can I get the safety data sheet for this product?

répondre: Maybe if you contact the seller.
  • question: Can these be cut to fit a smaller humidor?

répondre: I guess... Take the top off, cut it evenly and take out some of the crystals and then guess what the new fill line should be.
  • question: The tube is full of runny gel, not crystals, is this normal?

répondre: Yes, it is normal. Just add water to the line on tubes. Distilled water is good for about 2 months before you add more water.
  • question: How to get humidity to 70%?

répondre: I drilled a lot more small holes on the tube, so it could do what it's supposed to do. It needs to have much more holes, so the inside jelly thing could evaporate. After that, the humidity went up to 65%. Before it used to be like 50%.
  • question: Should I take the plastic wrappers off of my cigars prior to using this product in the humidor?

répondre: That is not necessary. The wrapping does allow for moisture/humidity to pass through. You may find that the interior of your humidor stays cleaner when leaving the cigars in their wraps.
  • question: Do you use one for a Cabinet Humidor?

répondre: I used these tubes a long time ago for my Cigar Box. They were not that effective in maintaining humidity in the box. I do not think they are suitable for a Cabinet Humidor. Last year, I used the following Cigar Humidor Solution and since, I have a constant 75-80% humidity in the box for a long time without refilling the humidifier. Cigar Humidor Solution (2 Pack), Best 16oz Propylene Glycol Formula for Cigar Humidifiers, Keep Stogies Fresher Than Ever - Comparable to XiKar by Ess.
  • question: Am I supposed to only use this and take the hockey puck humidifier out?

répondre: You can still use the hockey puck as well. But, I don't. I only use the tube.
  • question: How long do they last if you don't refill them?

répondre: I've only had them in a humidor for a month. There should be no reason to not fill, since they just refill with water.

Nutritionist's Take

The '4 Pack Humidor Humidifier Tubes' are designed for cigar enthusiasts, primarily focusing on preserving the quality of cigars rather than nutritional value. These tubes maintain humidity at 70% using PG (propylene glycol) infused gel, which is generally recognized as safe for use in various applications, including food. However, it's important to note that while this product ensures cigars remain fresh, it doesn't provide any nutritional benefits or contribute to health. The product does not involve food consumption but can indirectly affect health by enhancing the smoking experience. From a nutritional perspective, it's crucial for consumers to be aware that smoking cigars carries inherent health risks. Therefore, while the humidity control can enhance the quality of the cigars, it is not beneficial for overall health, especially for those with dietary restrictions or seeking to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
