Questions et réponses des clients

  • question: What is a Transmission Shifter Bushing?

répondre: A Transmission Shifter Bushing is a crucial component that helps to stabilize and align the shifter mechanism within your vehicle's transmission system. It acts as a spacer, allowing for smooth shifting between gears. Over time, the bushing can wear out or become damaged, leading to performance issues such as difficulty in shifting, which may reveal a shift system fault.
  • question: What are the symptoms of a faulty Transmission Shifter Bushing?

répondre: Symptoms of a faulty Transmission Shifter Bushing can include difficulty in shifting gears, a loose shifter feel, or unusual noises when changing gears. Drivers may also experience erratic gear engagement or the inability to shift into certain gears. These issues stem from the bushing not securely holding the shifter in place, causing inefficiency in the shift mechanism.
  • question: How do I know if I need to replace the Shifter Bushing on my Ford Fusion or Lincoln MKZ?

répondre: If you notice signs such as slop in the shifter or if the vehicle fails to shift properly, it may indicate that the Shifter Bushing needs replacement. Another indicator is if you've experienced a persistent shift system fault warning. Regular maintenance checks can help detect these issues early, ensuring optimal performance of the transmission system.
  • question: Can I install the Transmission Shifter Bushing myself?

répondre: Yes, many vehicle owners can install the Transmission Shifter Bushing themselves, particularly if they have basic automotive knowledge and tools. The process involves accessing the transmission area, removing the worn bushing, and installing the new one. Make sure to refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions related to your model.
  • question: Is this Transmission Shifter Bushing compatible with models other than Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ?

répondre: The Transmission Shifter Bushing specified in this product is designed mainly for the Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ models from 2013 to 2020. While other Ford vehicles might use similar components, it is best to check compatibility with reference to their specific part numbers to ensure proper fit and function.
  • question: What is the part number for the replacement bushing?

répondre: The part number for this Transmission Shifter Bushing is DG9Z7S004A. This identifier helps to ensure you are purchasing the correct component for your vehicle's specific shift system. Cross-referencing this number with your vehicle's parts catalog or a professional mechanic can help avoid any compatibility issues.
  • question: Do I need any special tools to replace the Shifter Bushing?

répondre: While not particularly specialized, having a set of standard automotive tools will make the job easier. Common tools include a wrench set, screwdrivers, and pliers. Depending on your vehicle’s configuration, you may also need a torque wrench. Ensuring that you have these tools at hand will help you perform the replacement efficiently.
  • question: What diagnostic steps can I take if I suspect a shift system fault?

répondre: If you suspect a shift system fault, start by checking for any related error codes using an OBD-II scanner. Inspect the shifter mechanism for looseness and any missing or damaged components. Additionally, consider examining the transmission fluid level and condition, as low or degraded fluid can impact shifting performance. These diagnostics can help pinpoint the issue before any repairs.
  • question: How does a worn Transmission Shifter Bushing affect driving experience?

répondre: A worn Transmission Shifter Bushing can lead to a frustrating driving experience due to misalignment in the shifter mechanism. This can manifest as hesitations when shifting gears or a sensation of slack in the shifter. As shifting becomes more difficult or inconsistent, it can impact overall driving safety and enjoyment, making timely replacement recommended for optimal operation.
  • question: Where can I buy the Transmission Shifter Bushing replacement?

répondre: You can purchase the Transmission Shifter Bushing suitable for the 2013-2020 Ford Fusion and Lincoln MKZ from Ubuy in Togo. Ubuy offers a user-friendly online shopping experience, ensuring you can find the exact part you need along with detailed product specifications.

ROOTMUTIFY Bushings & Components Editorial Review

The customer experience with this product has been largely positive, emphasizing its ease of installation and effectiveness in resolving shifting issues related to shifter linkages. Many users who replaced bushings in their vehicles, such as the MKZ and Ford Fusion, found the product intuitive to use, with no special tools required. Some customers highlighted that the installation process was so straightforward that a child could do it, making it accessible for anyone facing similar automotive problems. While the general reception of the product is favorable, there were minor concerns raised regarding the material quality. One user noted that the replacement grommet felt softer compared to the original OEM part, which sparked some apprehension about its long-term durability. Another customer pointed out a small flaw with excess plastic, indicating that quality control could be improved. However, these issues did not seem to outweigh the product's functionality for most users, who reported successful installations and satisfactory results. In conclusion, this product has proven to be a reliable solution for those needing to replace shifter linkages, with convenience and performance at the forefront of customer feedback. **
