Donner EC1207 Editorial Review
The Donner Mandolin DML-100B has garnered favorable feedback from beginner musicians seeking a quality instrument without breaking the bank. It stands out as an entry-level A-style mandolin that comes equipped with essential accessories, including a soft case, an electronic tuner, spare strings, plectrums, and a polishing cloth. The soft gig bag is well-padded and provides ample space for storing accessories, making it a practical choice for students traveling to lessons or jamming sessions. Musically, the mandolin produces a pleasing, well-balanced sound across its strings, making it enjoyable for beginner players. While some users noted a bit of extra sustain that could diminish as the strings age, they appreciated the instrument's overall tone and volume. The action height, while slightly high for some users, does not impede playability significantly. Most players found the intonation to require minor adjustment out of the box, but with a little tweaking of the bridge, they were able to achieve satisfactory results. Aesthetic appeal is another highlight, with many users praising the attractive mahogany sunburst finish that adds to its charm. Although the setup may not be perfect on arrival, players felt confident that with some adjustments, this instrument could meet their needs. Overall, the Donner Mandolin provides excellent value, especially for individuals venturing into mandolin play for the first time. **
